Mi trabajo en nutrición
Ponemos a disposición de la red de de la Sociedad Civil de América Latina y el Caribe nuestra experiencia y conocimientos en el campo de la nutrición infantil y la búsqueda de soluciones integrales para la primera infancia con mayor vulnerabilidad en Colombia, a través de la atención directa y la incidencia en política pública.
Me he sentido profundamente identificada con esta apuesta de trabajar por lo esencial para el desarrollo humano en el principio de la vida, adoptada por la Fundación Exito, porque siento que es el camino más seguro y efectivo para plantear soluciones de fondo a problemas estructurales en nuestras naciones. El trabajo social se debe fundamentar en el capital humano, y el capital humano se construye desde la nutrición.
El papel de la mujer
Creo que la distinción entre hombres y mujeres tiene sentido cuando se habla de ese momento único en el que las mujeres cumplen la misión que la naturaleza les ha encomendado, de poder dar la vida. Este hecho sublime trae consigo grandes implicaciones físicas y emocionales. La nutrición es entonces el motor que protege y prepara a la mujer para que ella pueda, a su vez, abrazar con su poder protector ese nuevo ser que depende totalmente de ella en este momento clave de su desarrollo.
No he visto que el hecho de ser mujer haya afectado mi carrera. Al contrario, hoy estoy esperando mi primer bebe y esto me ha permitido entender mucho más la importancia de la nutrición desde la concepción y lo fundamental que es prepararse uno mismo y a su entorno sobre la lactancia materna.
Podemos mejorar la nutrición de las mujeres de muchas maneras. El respeto por las capacidades y el potencial ganado a pulso y con esfuerzo; la madurez de la sociedad para reconocer las diferencias naturales sin estigmas ni etiquetas; la valentía de respetar la dignidad y exaltar el talento sin minimizar a los pares en razón de su género, de la etnia o de las creencias.
