Scaling Up Nutrition Movement Civil Society Alliance Philippines (SUN-CSA PH), Philippines
About
SUN-CSA PH has fully aligned its strategies and activities on the principle that all people have the right to food and good nutrition. It has always been a vision of the SUN-CSA PH to make the essence of the SUN movement fully realized in the country. Working together we would like to bring in members from other sectors to contribute in implementing nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive interventions that will address problems on malnutrition.
In 2019, the alliance participated in the lobbying, crafting, and finalization of relevant policies and their corresponding IRR (Implementing Rules and Regulations). It developed a systems-based roadmap for nutrition programming for local governments and the Nutrition Leadership and Governance component included in the LGU Mobilization Strategy approved by the National Nutrition Council’s Governing Board. SUN-CSA PH also participated in the Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Implementation (MELLPI Pro) at national and regional levels, and in the Nutrition Financing Working Group of the Nutrition for Growth 2020. The alliance also actively mobilizes resources to sustain its advocacy and program implementation plans. It has submitted a proposal to UNICEFs’ Program Cooperation Agreement and received a grant from the SUN Pooled Funds last April 2019.
